Activate QuickBooks Online 1099 e file


Before moving ahead with QuickBooks Online 1099 user has to go ahead and activate the 1099 feature. This can be done with the steps listed below:

1. Click on Edit and choose Preferences.

2. Hit on Tax: 1099 on the left.

3. Choose the Company Preference tab option.

4. Next to Do you file 1099-MISC forms? select Yes.

5. Click OK to save the preference.

Step 1. Move to the Vendors option in the left menu bar, and double click on the vendor to open for edit.

Step 2. Choose Edit at the top right of the screen, and insert the vendor’s tax ID number at Tax ID and check the box below Track payments for 1099. Next, important point is that you should have sent out W9 forms to every eligible vendor before the year-end, asking them to complete, sign and return the form to you.
